Description

Four levels of car park are sandwiched between commercial spaces on the ground floor, and a densely planted rooftop containing nineteen houses, which are of a similar scale as the ubiquitous ‘échoppe’ houses found throughout Bordeaux.
 

The different activities will ensure that the building does not become an activity dead zone as is often the case with many car parks.
 

The parking levels are open, offering expansive views out and natural ventilation. At street level along the relatively narrow street that it fronts, it is the vibrantly painted ceilings that will be the most visible part of the building. The myriad of colours with a lighting scheme that subtly changes gives rise to a dynamic environment where colour and light reflect off the shiny surfaces of cars.
